About Me

Sunbathing in the Caribbean last summer, my hubby and I spent a lot of time reading, thinking, and reflecting about our lives. I came across this quote by Henry Ford, “Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right”.

This quote motivated me more and through my soul searching, I realized that I have the ability to make a positive difference in other peoples lives by doing what I enjoy most: organizing! Since then, I have become a trained Professional Organizer, founded Simpli Organized and am fulfilling my dreams of helping others! :)
Although I am a naturally organized person, I’ve had my own challenges and understand that life happens. Life gets busy, procrastination sets in and our priorities, projects, and lift goals get delayed, pushed aside, and worst of all lost. The worst part of it is finding the time to take care of the mess and also how soon will it pile up again? Is it really organized? Or, is it just tidied up for now?

Through my research, trials and errors I have found that creating a simple method and more importantly keeping the method  simple is best way to a more orderly, stress free, productive, and happy life. My simple approach has helped others not only get organized, but more importantly, stay organized.

Before I started Simpli Organized, I was working in Houston as an accountant at an energy company. Sure, I enjoyed my job, made a significant income, and had everything I wanted. My hubby and I lived in a spacious four-bedroom home all to ourselves and each room was filled! The extra space and rooms were great when we had visitors, but demanded several hours of cleaning and preparation on the weekends. We constantly shopped and consumed; with everything we bought, you would think we would be happy, right? Wrong! We kept wanting more but were unfulfilled.

Then, a few months ago we had a great opportunity to move to Colorado, and it was too good to pass up and we had only a week to move! Not only did we have to pack up a filled and fully furnished 4-bedroom home, we had to move everything  cross-country from Houston, TX to Denver, CO!! Overwhelmed at first, I told myself to be patient and put my simple step-by-step plan in place. The next week was time consuming, stressful, and exhausting as we spent everyday cleaning, downsizing, categorizing, organizing, packing, labeling, and color-coding each and every box, before loading the moving truck. We didn’t have a place to live yet in Colorado and we knew meticulous planning and organizing was only going to make the move simple.
All of the planning and preparation paid off DEARLY. We moved from a 1750 sq ft 4 bedroom house to a 620 sq ft 1-bedroom apartment. By looking at our lists and categories on our phone, we quickly chose which boxes we wanted to open immediately and which boxes would have to be in storage. Even better, when we did need to go to storage, we easily found any and every item without frustration or time.

It was difficult to downsize, but we are much happier with how much we did. We’ve created more space in our apartment by being selective and keeping our things minimal without disrupting our daily routines. Living a less cluttered life, I have found the ability to enjoy the belongings I do have more, save money on items we didn’t need, and have more free time to do the things we want! ☺
